Today is the day! While we have been celebrating our anniversary all year and will continue to do so throughout the remainder of the year … July 1 is the official day.
In a blog earlier this year, I mentioned the seamless merger of MPX and Payments Central which created EPCOR. While it truly was a seamless merger, candidly there were a few bumps along the way, as is the case with any partnership or marriage. A lot of credit goes to the staff members and their individual and collective commitment to making this merger work for the benefit of our new collective membership.
Coincidentally, there are 10 of us that ushered in EPCOR on July 1, 2009 and are still important members of the team today, names many of you will recall … Amy Donaghue, Shirley James, Jen Kirk, Jennifer Kline, Stephanie Mareski, Karen (Sylvester) Nearing, Shelly (Simpson) Sipple, Brandie Thacker, Wendy Wishon and yes, Ann-Marie Bartels. Kudos to all of you and thank you for your ongoing commitment to EPCOR.
The majority of these individuals plus a few tens more, under the leadership of Susan K. Doyle, President, will assure that EPCOR continues to serve the best interests of our members for the next 10 years and beyond. While I won’t be at EPCOR to see all of the next 10 years unfold, I have to say I am excited about the future for our members and the association.
EPCOR’s future vision includes:
- Enhancements to Educational Offerings … assuring that our members are armed with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the ever-changing world of payments, utilizing a curriculum-based approach and a variety of channels
- Expanded Advisory Services … providing more services and support to help members maintain compliance, improve operational processes and mitigate risk & fraud
- Strategic Partnerships … “going it alone” can be daunting, through a selective process of identifying strategic partners we will forge relationships that will enhance our member experience and make navigating the future a little less painful
So, I say … let’s celebrate our past and our future on EPCOR’s 10th Anniversary! We look forward to serving you for 10 more years!!!
