“Alexa… Order a ring light for me on Amazon!”

Have you ever used Alexa to order merchandise? Or, have you ever sent a text to pay a utility bill? If so, is it a single, recurring or subsequent entry?

As consumer demand for faster and innovative payment options continues, the payments industry has found creative ways to meet these needs. Payments can now be made via voice command technology products such as Alexa, text message, payments apps and more. To keep up with the pace, the ACH Rules must change too.

If you’re working toward keeping the pace at your organization, consider joining us on November 2nd for our Single, Recurring & Standing Authorizations, Oh My! webinar to learn more about the newest type of ACH authorization - the standing authorization - and the new ACH Rule that took effect on September 17 expanding the authorization framework for consumer ACH debits to encompass single, recurring and standing authorizations. Together we will examine oral authorizations beyond a typical phone call, how different SEC codes impact the new standing authorization and how this new rule fits in with other authorization rules. Then we will apply our knowledge to real-life scenarios to determine which authorization type and SEC code should be used - oh my!
