A Career Built on Curiosity and Collaboration
Brosie is a Senior Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, with leadership responsibility for Bank Operations, including law enforcement, cash services and facilities management. He shared, “I also have administrative oversight for the district’s work on Federal Reserve Financial Services, which is responsible for managing critical payment and securities services that foster the accessibility, integrity and efficiency of the U.S. economy.”
Over his 24-year tenure at the Federal Reserve, he’s held key leadership roles across several functions, gaining hands-on experience and deepening his understanding of the payments ecosystem. One of the standout moments in his career was helping launch a transformative service that is rapidly changing how Americans move money.
“I had the opportunity to help lead the implementation and operation of two new functions: first, the Federal Reserve System’s centralized internal IT help desk, and I later served as the Chief Administrative Officer for the FedNow® Service,” he said. “Helping take FedNow® from an idea to an always-on instant payment service was an incredible experience.” That experience — bringing innovation from vision to reality — is one of the many reasons we’re thrilled to have Brosie on the EPCOR Board. He understands not just the technical dimensions of payments, but also the cultural and institutional collaboration required to drive change across the industry.
“Throughout all my experiences at the Federal Reserve, what stands out most is the opportunity to work with amazing, knowledgeable people,” he reflected. “I’ve learned so much from my colleagues across the Federal Reserve, as well as the many insightful and collaborative industry leaders who help shape the future of payments.”
A Shared Vision for EPCOR’s Role in the Industry
Brosie’s commitment to innovation is matched by a strong belief in the importance of education and community engagement. “I’m passionate about payments and am excited for the opportunity to be part of the EPCOR Board,” he said. “EPCOR plays a significant role in the payments community. In such a dynamic payments environment, it’s more important than ever to have educational resources and expertise available to the industry.”
As financial institutions navigate a rapidly evolving landscape marked by instant payments, increasing digitization and new risk challenges, Brosie sees his role at EPCOR as more critical than ever. “EPCOR’s continued focus on engagement and education will be incredibly important as financial institutions navigate and shape the new landscape, particularly as instant payments usage accelerates,” he added.
Looking Ahead: Innovation, Collaboration and Shared Purpose
We also asked Brosie to share what excites him most, both professionally and personally, as he begins his work with EPCOR.
“Professionally, this is such an exciting time in payments,” he said. “We’re seeing a lot of fast advancements in instant payments, and there are many opportunities for financial institutions, businesses and consumers as money moves more quickly.” In particular, he sees promise in the partnerships forming across the payments ecosystem. As new players and platforms enter the space, collaboration will be essential. Not only to drive innovation, but also to ensure stability, security and consumer trust.
“I also expect to see more partnerships within the industry as processors and Fintechs creatively meet evolving needs,” Brosie noted. “Fraud reduction is a major focus for all of us, and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish together in that space. This is a time of great opportunity.”
While Brosie’s professional accomplishments are impressive, he also brings a grounded and deeply personal perspective to his work. “Personally, I find a lot of joy and purpose in my family,” he said. “My wife and I live in the Kansas City area with our two teenage daughters and our dog. We’re trying to fit in as many meaningful family experiences as we can while the girls are still home!”
