Our Members are the Main Ingredient this Member Appreciation Month!

It’s my absolute FAVORITE time of year — Member Appreciation Month! I’ve got my chef hat on and I’m ready to whisk you away with a celebration cooked up just for YOU! After all, our members are the main ingredient in everything we do!

  

This year, we’re cooking up something special ALL MONTH LONG with weekly contests and giveaways that’ll stock a few lucky winners’ kitchens with gadgets and gear perfect for any home chef. Be sure to follow us on our social channels (, ,  and ) for food-themed fun and play along for a chance to win SWEET prizes!

Now through the end of the month, we invite you to send us the how-to on your favorite dish for the EPCOR Family Recipe Book by emailing it to hoot-e@epcor.org! We’ll compile all submitted recipes from members and staff and share the downloadable recipe book in September. One member who submits a recipe will be randomly selected to win a Smart Kitchen TV!

Plus, we’ll be serving up our appreciation with staff-submitted recipes from the EPCOR team. Here's a little preview platter of the heartwarming stories and inspiration for the recipes we’ll be dishing out all month long — bon appétit!

   

I spent most of my formative years with my grandma. Any chance I got — summer breaks, "sick" days from school or just an open afternoon — I was at her side. We were partners in crime! She didn't have much, but what she lacked in resources, she more than made up for in love and culinary creativity.

She taught me that the most delicious meals often come from the humblest ingredients, and we spent countless hours in her kitchen, stirring, tasting and laughing.”

My Grandma Gross lived to the incredible age of 102. When I was a kid, I was absolutely convinced she invented ham loaf — after all, no one else made it quite like she did.

Every year, when my mom asked what I wanted for my birthday dinner, I didn’t even hesitate: ham loaf and scalloped potatoes, please and thank you. It was my ultimate comfort food then and honestly, it still is.

My great grandma used to make flour-wrapped cooked bacon for my Dad, and then my Dad would make this bacon for me and my brother. Since then, I’ve made it for my family and used to make up to 12 pounds of it for my former bank staff for Christmas parties, birthdays, retirements, promotions, anniversaries or other occasions.”

Lastly, I want to stir in a little gratitude. Our members are what make everything we do so flavorful. Whether you’re reaching out to Member Support, collaborating with Advisory Services, getting a taste of what our Knowledge Community has to offer or showing up hungry to learn at our educational events, you always bring your top-notch skills.
