Let’s Talk About Politics

Do you find it fascinating to read and learn about how the decisions are made by our government and the impact on our daily life including the Financial Industry? Truth be told, I don’t consider myself a political person and I refuse to get into heated debates with friends, family and complete strangers.  Part of the reason I refuse to have such conversations is I don’t consider myself to be an expert in the area, but I do enjoy hearing information based on facts and statistical information.

EPCOR has called upon a government relations professional, specializing in payments and financial services polity to help us decipher how the current political landscape could impact our financial institutions. Jamie Graham has served as Director of Government Relations for Nacha, overseeing Congressional affairs and public policy engagement with Congress and the Executive branch. She primarily covered issues related to financial services, financial technology, data security, intellectual property, privacy, and tax policy. Prior to joining the Nacha government relations team, Ms. Graham was a Senior Manager of Government Affairs at ETA, The Electronic Transactions Association, where she lobbied the US Congress on credit cards, financial technology, mobile payments, Operation Choke Point, digital currency and prepaid cards.

We have asked Ms. Graham to share how the results of the 2020 election will impact our financial institutions and the financial services policy. Topics will include an introduction to the new power players and key financial policy advisors that will reshape regulatory policy, a discussion of the impact new Democratic leadership in the Senate will have on the Congressional agenda, an overview of the roadblocks a slim majority in the House and Senate may present to the new Administration, and a look ahead to the 2022 midterm elections.

Join us on March 16, 2021 for our 2020 Election Outcome & Impact to Financial Services Policy webinar and together, we will discuss key financial policy advisors that will reshape regulatory policy, a discussion of the impact new Democratic leadership in the Senate will have on the Congressional agenda, an overview of the roadblocks a slim majority in the House and Senate may present to the new Administration and more.
