Why Do I Appreciate EPCOR?

In my first eighteen months at EPCOR, it’s easy for me to reflect on why I left my banking career after nearly thirty years and joined the association.  For all of you inquiring minds, here are some of the reasons why I appreciate EPCOR:

First, EPCOR has an incredible staff! Many of the staff members have significant tenure with the organization, and they all seem to love what they do and more importantly, why they do it. During my first year, I’ve noticed that each staff member brings their own specific talents and experience to the organization as they put into action our mission of providing payments expertise through education, advice and member representation. When developing new educational or advisory services, the staff has a brainstorming meeting (BSM) where everyone gets the opportunity to share their ideas and to collaborate openly . It’s like the old saying goes, “two hands are better than one.”  Additionally, our Member Support team is available via email, phone or chat to answer any payments related question you, as a member, may need assistance with answering. I truly appreciate the team environment and the commitment the staff demonstrates to our members.

Secondly, EPCOR members are terrific! I appreciate them and the support they give to our organization.  Year after year, a record number of members attend Payment System Update to learn about the rules and regulatory changes impacting the payments industry and their financial institution. On a quarterly basis, a large number of members attend  our free industry update webinar to listen to current or proposed changes within the payments landscape. Additionally, members reach out to schedule their annual ACH compliance audit or for consulting services to ensure policies and procedures remain compliant with the every-changing payments landscape. Also, so many of our members offer their time and expertise by participating on various EPCOR committees.  I appreciate the open dialogue, suggestions and the valuable interaction these committee meetings afford us in helping to guide our organization and meet member needs.

Lastly, I appreciate the EPCOR Board of Directors and their continued support and leadership as we work together on the evolving payments landscape and the overall strategic direction for EPCOR.  I appreciate the diversity, perspectives and personal time each Board Member contributes to making EPCOR the outstanding payments association that it is today.

For all the above contributions from the EPCOR staff, our members and the Board of Directors, I say, “thank you and I appreciate the continued support you provide to me and to EPCOR - Your Electronic Payments Core of Knowledge.”
